The Behavior Specialist serves as a member of the Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) team at the Indianapolis Metropolitan High School and will be a member of a school community with an educational model that complements the acclaimed barrier removal work Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana does at The Excel Centers, Nurse-Family Partnership, and other award-winning programs. Utilizing a positive behavior and restorative model, the specialist works with the SEL team to implement the SEL model and provide targeted assistance and services to students in grades 9-12 in a “best fit” environment for teenagers with significant barriers to education. Example Duties and Activities

Executes proactive and reactive systems to influence student behavior and build social-emotional skills in alignment with the school’s social-emotional learning (SEL) model:
- Responds to and influences student behavior with a focus on positive incentives, restorative strategies, and explicit teaching of new social-emotional skills.
- Provides consistent and fair follow-through on both major and minor behaviors per school policies.
- Uses restorative practices and SEL strategies to identify root causes of behavior alongside students, families, staff, and stakeholders.
- Implements a progressive series of consequences focused on the teaching of skills and prevention of future behaviors.
- Invests students, families, and stakeholders in the vision for restorative practices including developing prosocial behaviors and SEL skill-focused consequences.
- Uses restorative practices to de-escalate challenging situations, helps those in disagreement to listen to each other, and facilitates the creation of shared agreements.
- Prioritizes competing, time-sensitive demands with proactive priorities while upholding commitments consistently.
- Models self-regulation and maintains composure in stressful or escalated situations.
Assists students with academic work completion when in redirection for an extended period of time.
Tracks, maintains, and reviews accurate, compliant data about student behavior and identifies patterns in students served. Monitors student progress and adjusts plans based on ongoing data review.
Assists with supervision of the school building, including escorting students from class as needed and monitoring the cafeteria, hallways, or other areas as needed. Assists students to their destinations, aiding teachers with traffic monitoring.
Drives mini-bus to help with daily transportation of students. As needed, travels on Indy Go buses with students and provides supervision at bus stops/stations to support student behavior and safety.
Builds relationships with students and their webs of support. Communicates strengths and challenges frequently and uses restorative approaches to resolve conflict.
Partners with colleagues to refer and connect students to wraparound supports including Family Empowerment Coaching for internal and community resources, Social-Emotional Learning, Special Education, and more.

Required Competencies

Degree and Credential Requirements - High school diploma or GED required.

Beginning with nurse home visits that occur during pregnancy and continue until the child is age two, Nurse Home Visitors provide coaching and care to first-time expectant clients. The nurse develops therapeutic relationships and utilizes concepts of reflection and motivational interviewing with parents and their families in a home visiting environment modeling client-centered, strengths-based, and solution-focused approaches. The Nurse Home Visitor maintains the highest standards in clinical nursing practice and adherence to the NFP model, as well as to policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards of NFP and of the lead agency, Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana. The Nurse Home Visitor will be on a team that includes other Nurse Home Visitors and a Nurse Supervisor.

Example Duties and Activities

Clinical

Plans and performs home visits to clients and their families in accordance with the NFP model and guidelines. Carries a caseload of 25 or more clients.
Assesses physical, emotional, social, and environmental needs of clients and their families as they relate to the NFP domains.
Assists clients and their families in establishing goals and attaining outcomes by providing education, support, and referral resources.
Coordinates access to community resources provided by NFP Guides, Goodwill staff, and partners with other outside professionals involved in providing services to clients and families.
Formulates nursing diagnosis based on nursing assessment and client goals and evaluates client progress toward stated goals and NFP outcomes.

Professional Learning and Team Development

Engages in professional development to meet all NFP Nurse Home Visitor competency requirements and completes all required NFP education.
Utilizes reflective practice in weekly supervisory meetings with NFP Nurse Supervisor.
Schedules joint home visits with NFP Nurse Supervisor three times a year.
Engages in weekly alternating case conferences and staff meetings.
Accurately assesses own learning needs and develops strategies to meet them. Utilizes computers for distance learning. Establishes and records progress toward annual goals.
Stays informed of current health care developments to provide safe, quality nurse home visiting services.

Documentation, Reporting, and Quality Improvement

Ensures appropriate documentation, protecting private information, and timely/accurate data input to the NFP information management system (MIS) and utilizes web-based reports and other reports available through NFP.
Participates in review and evaluation of the MIS reports identifying achievements and areas for improvement. Engages in quality improvement efforts.

Community Relations

Participates in community coalition on behalf of NFP and promotes public awareness of NFP.
Develops and maintains community relationships to result in client referrals and resources.

Required Competencies

Degree and Credential Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or an Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) with the expectation to begin the path to BSN within 5 years of employment and current Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing or the ability to obtain prior to start date.

Job Summary

The Manager, Business Support leads a team of professionals who provide records and reporting support to the leaders of Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana’s (GCSI’s) Education and Mission departments. This role reports directly to the Director, Corporate Impact and Analytics (CIA). The Manager collaborates with internal and external team support to ensure the Education and Mission program needs are satisfied in the areas of data software, reporting, and analysis. The primary tasks are coordination of major projects, grant support, and data analysis. The Manager coordinates with the data collection, storage, and analytics teams; oversees data reporting and software/application support personnel; and assists with data analysis and grant support. This role communicates and coordinates with other IT team members as needed. The Manager fosters a close relationship across the entire IT team, developing rapport with Education and Mission leadership.

Example Duties and Activities

Works with the Business Support team members to develop and support a data reporting and software support strategy.
Oversees and coordinates with team members responsible for data reporting and the Education/Mission data collection tools, such as Synergy (student information system), Caseworthy (Mission participant information system), and the various student outreach tools.
Develops and maintains relationships with each GEI school and Mission program leadership team to identify areas of opportunity and collaboration and ways to better support them through analysis, reporting, and technology.
Provides grant support – working directly with Education, Mission, and Foundation staff to assist with the ongoing support of Education and Mission grants.
Provides data analysis support for Goodwill Education Initiatives (GEI) and coordinates major data analytics projects with the CIA team.

The CDP Team Lead works with the Manager, Logistics & Supply Chain and the Outlets, Stores, and Transportation vendors to plan and execute a variety of activities including the movement of inventory between donation sites/locations and storage/processing locations (e.g. Outlets and eCommerce), monitoring and balancing of supplies and inventory between/among Outlets, and supporting delivery of supplies and movement of inventory and supplies from stores. This role is the main contact for Stores, Outlets, and eCommerce, our transportation system providers, and the support vendors. The CDP Team Lead is heavily focused on managing critical Transportation, Logistics, and Supplies processes.

Hours of Operation: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday thru Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday

Example Duties and Activities

Manages critical Transportation, Logistics, Supply Management, and associated safety processes in a way that improves financial spending efficiency, improves customer satisfaction from the quality of service provided, and reduces associated safety risks for internal customers.
Integrates and represents Goodwill’s Mission, Vision, and Values to internal and external customers at all times. Ensures every site has an exceptional customer service experience with the CDP team. Maintains a positive culture of open professional communication, immediate resolution of issues, and healthy confrontation when dealing with peers, suppliers/vendors, and customers.
Demonstrates strong safety performance, including compliance with all Goodwill and site safety requirements and practices.
Conducts weekly audits for safety, inventory management, etc.

Meets performance expectations and completes daily objectives as defined by the manager, Logistics & Supply Chain, which can include providing assistance to the Outlet Department Leadership over the dock area. Performs various tasks such as managing trailer inventory, managing trailer repairs, and maintaining trailer DOT records.
Maintains contact with sites and drivers throughout the day and ensures communication expectations are met.
Regularly identifies process problems and areas for improvement, and recommends improvements/solutions.

May step in to assist with forklift driving in times of staffing vacancies and/or during the training of new team members.

Required Competencies

Degree and Credential Requirements - Current Forklift Operator certification or ability to obtain within two weeks of hire.

The Young Learners Childcare Center (YLCC) is designed to provide free, temporary, short-term childcare for the students of the Excel Center until regular childcare is located. The YLCC is available when students are studying on-site or are in class, and will serve children up to age 12.

The Young Learners Childcare Attendant assists in ensuring the safe and caring management of all the students entrusted to the center. The Attendant monitors students in the center, serves snacks, and facilitates learning opportunities for the students while in their care. The Attendant assists in keeping parents informed of policies and procedures at the center.
